The Northern High School girls basketball team won its first game in the Western Maryland Athletic Conference (WestMAC) season, defeating Mountain Ridge 65-64 on Friday. Abby Nelson scored a game-high 25 points for the Huskies. Meanwhile, the No. 3 ranked Petersburg High School girls team extended its winning streak to 7 games with a 66-33 victory over Pendleton County on Saturday. Miley Tingler, Karlie DiBenedetto, Ayden Mayfield, and Shyane Tawney all scored in double figures for Petersburg.
