Sophomore right-handed pitcher Kendall Frost threw a complete game, striking out six and earning her eighth win of the season. The Tar Heels hit three home runs, including a 3-run shot by graduate shortstop Shelby Barbee and solo homers by senior designated player MC Eaton and junior catcher Rayna Blackwell.

The details
The Red Foxes scored first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. But the Tar Heels answered back with a run of their own in the bottom half to tie it at 1-1. Marist regained the lead in the second on a solo home run, but North Carolina exploded for seven runs over the next two innings, including the three home runs, to pull away.
