The Great Train Race, one of the largest timed kids' running events on the East Coast, will return to downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia on May 3rd, 2026. The race, which starts near the Fredericksburg Train Station and runs through historic downtown, features three events for young runners under 18: the chip-timed Express and George Dashington races, as well as the untimed Caboose Run. After the races, runners and families are invited to a Race Festival at the commuter lot behind the Train Station for awards, music, vendors, and treats.
