Lyla Devlin, a junior swimmer from Fairfax, Virginia, has verbally committed to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Connecticut starting in Fall 2027. Devlin swims club with the Mason Makos and has achieved Futures-qualifying times in several events, including the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 IM, and 400 IM.

Why it matters

Devlin's commitment is a major pickup for the UConn swim program, which finished second at the 2026 Big East Championships. Her best times in the breaststroke and IM events would have scored highly at the conference meet, boosting the Huskies' chances of winning the title in the future.

Devlin recently competed at the ISCA International Senior Cup in late-March, where she posted seven top-8 finishes and earned four new personal bests. At the Potomac Valley Open Championship in February, she took second in the 400 IM and third in the 200 breaststroke. Last summer, she raced at the Greensboro Futures meet.
