Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) and Charlottesville City Schools (CCS) will be providing free meals to students on Wednesday, January 28th, as both school districts remain closed due to inclement weather. ACPS will distribute meals at Greer Elementary School from 12-1 PM, while CCS will distribute meals at Charlottesville Middle School from 12-2 PM.

Why it matters

The meal distributions ensure that students who rely on school meals continue to have access to food during unexpected school closures, which is especially important for families facing food insecurity.

The details

ACPS will distribute free meals and snacks to students attending Greer, Woodbrook, and Agnor Elementary Schools, as well as Journey Middle School. Families must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult over 18. CCS will only provide meals to current CCS students due to federal guidelines, and families are asked to use the 9th St. SW entrance and pull up near the C3 kitchen door to receive assistance.
