Martinsville Speedway has partnered with Hermle North America, an Amherst County-based manufacturer, to produce the famed Martinsville Speedway grandfather clock trophy awarded to the race winner. The clock will now be named the H. Clay Earles Clock, honoring the founder of Martinsville Speedway.

Each clock takes about 20 hours of hands-on labor to build, with around 20 employees involved in the process. Hermle will also name the clock the H.
