The Utah State Eastern softball team opened its 2026 Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule with a tough road series against No. 21 ranked Salt Lake Community College. Despite some strong individual performances, the Eagles were unable to pick up a win, dropping all four games to the Bruins.

In the series opener, the Eagles kept the game close early on, but an 8-run outburst by SLCC led to a 10-1 defeat. The second game saw more offense from Utah State Eastern, with Allie Fowler and Jayda Spight hitting home runs, but they still fell 12-4. On the second day, Brooklyn Zajac homered in a 9-1 loss, and in the series finale, Zajac hit another home run and Ainzleigh Quinn had 3 RBIs, but the Eagles ultimately lost 15-7 after SLCC scored 10 unanswered runs.
