Contour Airlines has announced it will expand its flight schedule to the Canyonlands Regional Airport in Moab, Utah for the busy spring travel season. The expansion will add 19 weekly flights to Moab, with seven from Phoenix and 12 from Denver. Contour is also seeking to add a second daily flight between Moab and Denver.

Why it matters

This expansion continues Contour's trend of increasing services at the Canyonlands Regional Airport, which is supported by federal subsidies to help maintain commercial flights in rural communities. The additional flights will make it easier for visitors to access the world-class outdoor recreation in Moab, including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

The details

Contour's expanded service will utilize 30-seat regional jets with extra legroom, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free checked and carry-on bags. The Grand County Commission will review Contour's proposal for a second daily Denver-Moab flight on March 17.
