Spartans Start Track and Field Season at Red Rock Invite

The Emery High School track and field teams kicked off their 2026 season at the Red Rock Invitational in Moab, Utah last weekend. The Lady Spartans finished fifth overall, led by standout hurdler Skylee Guymon, who broke her own state record in the 300-meter hurdles. On the boys' side, Emery placed 10th, with Brek Griffin taking first in the high jump.

The Red Rock Invite provides an early-season test for Emery's track and field squads as they look to build on their success from last year and compete for region and state titles. The details

At the meet, Skylee Guymon won the 300-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles, and 200-meter dash, with her time of 42.45 in the 300 hurdles breaking her own 3A state record. Addy Guymon finished second in both the 800 and 1600 meters, and Emery's 4x400 relay team also took second. On the boys' side, Brek Griffin won the high jump, and Emery's 4x400 relay team placed fifth.
