The Carbon Dino baseball team fell to the Manti Templars 7-3 in their region opener on Tuesday. The Templars jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, and the Dinos were unable to mount a comeback despite scoring three runs later in the game.
Why it matters
This was the first of two games between the Dinos and Templars this week, and the loss puts Carbon at 0-1 in region play. The Dinos will need to rebound quickly if they want to stay competitive in their region.
The details
The Templars scored six runs in the first four innings, while the Dinos were held scoreless until the bottom of the 4th when Maddux Willson walked with the bases loaded to bring in a run. Carbon added two more runs in the 5th and 6th innings, but their bats went cold after that and they couldn't overcome the early deficit.
