The Visual Art Institute is offering a series of introductory art classes for children ages 5-11 at the Highland Community Center in Utah. The classes will focus on the seven core elements of art - line, shape, form, color, value, space, and texture - using a variety of mediums like pencils, markers, watercolors, and pastels. The classes are open to both beginners and those who have taken the class before, as each session will feature new projects and techniques.

The details

The art classes will be held at the Highland Community Center and taught by instructor Shelley Young. Each session will involve hands-on projects centered around the core elements of art. Students will experiment with a range of mediums including pencils, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, markers, tempera paint, watercolors, ink, and pastels. The classes welcome both beginners and those who have taken the class before, as the projects will be new or have different results each time.
