In his latest 2-round mock draft, ESPN's Matt Miller has the Cleveland Browns selecting a massive offensive tackle, a big-bodied wide receiver, and a physical linebacker to bolster their roster. The picks include Utah's Spencer Fano at No. 6 overall, Washington's Denzel Boston at No. 24, and Cincinnati's Jake Golday in the second round at No. 39.
Why it matters
The Browns have struggled with size and physicality in recent seasons, especially on the offensive line and at wide receiver. These three selections would provide an infusion of strength and power to help Cleveland compete in the rugged AFC North.
The details
At No. 6 overall, the Browns take Utah tackle Spencer Fano, a 6'6", 302-lb mauler who allowed just 3 sacks in his last 24 starts. He could replace free agent Jack Conklin at right tackle or potentially slide to the left side. With the 24th pick (via Jacksonville), Cleveland selects Washington WR Denzel Boston, a 6'4", 209-lb target who had 20 touchdowns the past two seasons. In the second round at No. 39, the Browns add Cincinnati LB Jake Golday, a 6'4", 240-lb thumper who had 104 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year.
- The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in late April.
The players
Spencer Fano
A 6'6", 302-lb offensive tackle from the University of Utah who has experience at both left and right tackle.
Denzel Boston
A 6'4", 209-lb wide receiver from the University of Washington who had 20 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
Jake Golday
A 6'4", 240-lb linebacker from the University of Cincinnati who recorded 104 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2025.
What they’re saying
“The rebuild is ongoing in Cleveland, as the Browns have holes throughout the roster with no clear-cut answer at quarterback or left tackle. That leads to yet another "best player available" approach.”
— Matt Miller, ESPN NFL Draft Analyst
“Boston is a massive wide receiver prospect at 6-foot-4 and 209 pounds with an excellent ability to win at the catch point. If the Browns decide to roll with Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, they'd be comforted by the fact that Boston's size and great play speed -- plus his 20 touchdowns the past two seasons -- help him win on the outside of the formation. He projects as a true WR1.”
— Matt Miller, ESPN NFL Draft Analyst
What’s next
The Browns will look to address their remaining roster needs, including quarterback, in the later rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The takeaway
By targeting big, physical players at key positions of need, the Browns are aiming to build a more imposing roster that can better compete in the rugged AFC North division. These selections provide a strong foundation for the team's ongoing rebuild.
