Brice McCurdy, a three-star quarterback prospect and top-50 QB in the nation, has announced his commitment to play for TCU starting in the 2027 season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound signal-caller from Waco, Texas had offers from several other programs but chose to join the Horned Frogs as they undergo offensive staff changes.
Why it matters
McCurdy's commitment is an important early recruiting win for TCU's new offensive coaching staff, led by coordinator Gordon Sammis and quarterbacks coach Brad Robbins. The Horned Frogs lost a previous 2027 QB commit in Jerry Meyer III, so locking down McCurdy helps stabilize their future quarterback plans.
The details
As a sophomore at Robinson High School in 2024, McCurdy threw for 2,016 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 410 yards and 4 scores. He followed that up with a strong junior campaign in 2025, completing 145-of-210 passes for 2,246 yards and 23 TDs, plus 688 rushing yards and 8 ground scores. McCurdy was an All-District honoree and is considered a top-50 QB prospect nationally in the 2027 recruiting class.
