Cayuga's Gus Wilfong and Van's Connor McCurley have been named the Tyler Morning Telegraph Baseball Players of the Week for games played March 2-7. Wilfong was selected as the Pitcher of the Week after a dominant performance, while McCurley was chosen as the Hitter of the Week following an impressive offensive showing.

The details
Wilfong pitched five innings in a win over Elkhart, allowing just one earned run on one hit while striking out 13 batters. McCurley had an incredible week at the plate, going 11-for-15 (.733) with two home runs, including a grand slam, four doubles, a triple, 14 RBIs, seven runs, a walk, a hit by pitch and three stolen bases.
