Powerlifters from Seguin and Navarro high schools put in strong performances at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association boys state championship meet held in Abilene over the weekend. Several athletes from both schools placed in the top 10 of their respective weight classes, with Seguin's Hunter Mica earning a silver medal in the 242-pound division.

On Saturday, Seguin High School had five lifters compete in the Division I 5A state meet, with Hunter Mica earning a silver medal in the 242-pound weight class and other Matadors placing in the 181-pound, 165-pound, and 275-pound divisions.
