Jared Huntley, a Howard Payne University graduate, has planted three churches in the last decade, two of which have been in military communities. He is now planting Pillar Church of San Antonio in what's been dubbed "Military City, U.S.A." and has become a co-director tasked with overseeing Send Network's effort to reach military communities with the gospel.

Why it matters

Military communities have a desperate need for the gospel, and service members and their families can become "global ambassadors for Christ" as they are stationed around the world. Church planting in these communities is a strategic way to fulfill the Great Commission.

The details

Huntley developed a passion to minister to those who have sacrificed much in service to their nation while serving in the U.S. Army for six years. He is now planting Pillar Church of San Antonio, which is located near Joint Base San Antonio, home to approximately 80,000 people. Send Network has newly prioritized 30 American military communities, in the U.S. and abroad, with a need for more healthy, multiplying churches.
