Texas softball junior right-hander Teagan Kavan recorded her second career no-hitter as the No. 3 Longhorns capped an unbeaten weekend at the Longhorn Invitational with an 8-0 win over Incarnate Word. Kavan struck out 10 batters and retired 18 straight after hitting the first batter she faced. The Longhorns' offense was led by junior center fielder Kayden Henry, who hit a three-run home run.

Why it matters

Kavan's no-hitter is the latest in a string of dominant pitching performances for the Longhorns, who have won 17 straight games and are establishing themselves as one of the top teams in the country. The win also sets the stage for Texas to open SEC play against a ranked South Carolina team.
