What they’re saying
“The coaches, the environment that they had, it was real welcoming. Playing collegiate baseball is what I've always dreamt of doing and now I've made that dream a reality.”
— Lincoln Reinke (mrt.com)
“Just to continue that legacy is pretty special to me. I love the campus, I love the coaches, so I'm just really excited to continue it.”
— TJ Schlaffer (mrt.com)
“It means a lot. I just want to thank God, I wouldn't have had that opportunity without him. And my parents, who played a big role and paid for everything that I was able to do.”
— Trace McCoy (mrt.com)
“The coaches are really nice and I love them so much. They're giving me this opportunity and I'm grateful for it. It's a nice campus. It's a little change in scenery, not much, but it's still a change. It's also not far from home and I'm just really glad to be going there.”
— Malyah Carrillo (mrt.com)
“I'm really grateful for this opportunity. If it wasn't for my parents, I wouldn't be here right now. The man that started me on golf is my great grandpa and he passed away when I was a freshman, and he gave me his clubs. I was playing with those for a little bit and that's what really got me started. I started grinding and going out every day playing golf. That's all I would do all summer.”
— Alejandro Sanchez (mrt.com)
The takeaway
These signings showcase the talent and dedication of Midland High's student-athletes, who have worked hard to earn the opportunity to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Their achievements are a source of pride for the Midland community and highlight the school's strong sports programs.
