Harris was born in 1936 in Lafayette County, Arkansas and grew up on a farm surrounded by family. She was a devoted homemaker who loved hiking, cooking, writing poetry, and caring for animals. Harris was also deeply religious and attended Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, grandchildren, and other family members, who will miss her warmth and generosity.
