Carter then circled back and drove directly at another officer, who was able to get behind a barrier and avoid being hit. Carter then led Hurst police on a chase lasting about an hour through multiple jurisdictions, with assistance from neighboring police departments, before he was finally apprehended at 12:41 p.m.
