Conroe's 61st annual Go Texan Parade is set for February 21, 2026, featuring the famed Texas A&M University Parsons Mounted Cavalry as a new addition to the lineup. The parade is a joint project of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Houston Metro Go Texan Committee Conroe/Willis/The Woodlands subcommittee and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, and it ushers in rodeo season in the area with floats, bands, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo dignitaries, politicians, and plenty of riders on horseback.
Why it matters
The Go Texan Parade is a longstanding tradition in Conroe that brings the community together to celebrate the start of rodeo season. The addition of the Texas A&M Parsons Mounted Cavalry, a prestigious military unit, adds to the parade's pageantry and highlights the region's deep ties to Texas A&M University and the state's ranching and agricultural heritage.

It will turn east toward Conroe City Hall and then travel by the west side of the Montgomery County Courthouse before ending where it started, at Texas 75 and FM 2854. Parade Chairman Brian Dawson said the Parsons Mounted Cavalry will feature a military cannon in the parade.
