Lone Star College-University Park's student-run literary arts magazine, 'Uproar,' has earned national recognition as a REALM First Class recipient, the highest distinction in the National Council of Teachers of English's 2025 Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines program.

The details
Selected from over 400 entries nationwide, 'Uproar's' First-Class designation reflects the efforts of student editors and contributors, supported by faculty co-sponsors. Student editors lead the selection and revision process, and about 30 contributors were chosen for this year's edition, many earning their first publication credit.
- Uproar is in its 13th year of publication at LSC-University Park.
- The REALM program recognized 135 magazines nationwide with First Class distinction out of 456 entries in the 2025 cycle.
