The Texas Longhorns have added former Florida interim head coach Billy Gonzales to their coaching staff for the 2026 season. Gonzales, who has over three decades of experience coaching wide receivers at the collegiate level, will work as an analyst with the Longhorns' wide receivers under current wide receivers coach Chris Jackson.

Gonzales took over as Florida's interim head coach for the final five games of the 2025 season after the firing of head coach Billy Napier. During his time as interim, the Gators posted a 1-4 record, with close losses to top-5 opponents Georgia and Ole Miss before finishing the season with a 40-21 win over rival Florida State. Prior to his stint as interim head coach, Gonzales spent nine years on Florida's coaching staff, primarily as the wide receivers coach and also holding the title of co-offensive coordinator at various points.
