Teledyne HiRel Unveils Lowest-Power 4 GHz Wideband LNA

New ultra-efficient low-noise amplifier delivers full 4 GHz performance at breakthrough power levels.

Published on Feb. 24, 2026

Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors, a leader in ruggedized semiconductors for mission-critical environments, has announced the TDLNA0840EP, an ultra-low-power, wideband, low-noise amplifier (LNA) that delivers guaranteed operation to 4.0 GHz while consuming only tens of milliwatts from a single 1.5-volt supply. The TDLNA0840EP enables significant power savings in space, avionics, and battery-constrained RF systems.

Why it matters

The new LNA from Teledyne HiRel addresses the constant pressure on space, defense, and avionics programs to reduce power budgets without compromising RF performance. By delivering true 4 GHz, wideband coverage at breakthrough power levels, the TDLNA0840EP can simplify thermal design, extend mission life, and enable denser arrays and modules.

The details

The TDLNA0840EP features a typical gain of 29 dB and a typical noise figure of 1.5 dB across 0.3–4.0 GHz. It operates from a single 1.5V supply and consumes only 25-30mW of power typically. The compact 3x3mm QFN package includes internally matched, DC-blocked 50-ohm RF ports, enabling easy integration into space, avionics, and battery-powered RF systems.
