Elgin's first-year volleyball coach Hope Pawlik has been nominated for the Texas High School Coaches Association Region 8 Coach of the Year and was recently selected as one of 10 coaches for the THSCA Region 8 volleyball advisory committee. Pawlik, who previously coached at Brenham, helped the Elgin Lady Wildcats break a winless district competition streak in her debut season.
