Zane Rowe, a highly-touted 4-star edge rusher from Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, has narrowed his college choices down to North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, and the University of Washington. Rowe will publicly announce his decision on March 13 after previously committing to Oklahoma but later decommitting to explore other options.
Why it matters
Landing Rowe would be a major recruiting coup for the University of Washington, as he is considered one of the top defensive prospects in the state of Texas. The Huskies have had some success in recent years pulling talent from the Lone Star State, and adding an elite pass rusher like Rowe could bolster their defensive unit for years to come.
The details
Rowe, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman, has put up impressive stats over the past three seasons at Guyer High. As a junior in 2025, he recorded 72 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 14 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. He was named the Most Valuable Player of Texas' 6A District 5 for his efforts. Rowe was equally productive as a sophomore in 2024, finishing with 75 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks.
