Kentucky's football recruiting efforts are in full swing this spring, with the Wildcats making strong impressions on several top prospects, including four-star quarterback Andre Adams and four-star defensive lineman Xavier Muhammad. The team is also the first SEC school to offer 2028 wide receiver Jay'maree Bowens from Texas.
Why it matters
Strong recruiting in the spring can set the tone for a successful fall season and beyond. Kentucky is looking to build on recent success and continue to attract top talent to the program.
The details
Four-star quarterback Andre Adams from Tennessee visited Kentucky and was impressed by the intensity and coaching style of the program. He has several other visits scheduled but Kentucky has made a strong impression. Four-star defensive lineman Xavier Muhammad from Texas has scheduled official visits to several top programs, and Kentucky is working to get him on campus as well. The Wildcats also extended an early offer to 2028 wide receiver Jay'maree Bowens, who stands at 6'5" and is the first SEC school to offer the Texas prospect.
- Adams visited Kentucky at the beginning of March and returned for another visit on March 10.
- Muhammad has scheduled official visits to Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Houston, Michigan, Miami, and TCU, and is looking to add one more.
- Kentucky offered Bowens, a 2028 prospect, in late February.

What they’re saying
“From the practice, I took away the intensity and the purpose they moved with. Coach Sloan impressed me with his coaching style. It's the style that I like. Seeing coach Stein in action was pretty cool too. He was everywhere and involved a lot with the quarterbacks.”

What’s next
Adams has upcoming visits scheduled to Oregon, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Colorado, in addition to an official visit to Kentucky. Muhammad is looking to add one more official visit to his schedule.
