The reigning Class 4A track and field state champion Brownwood Lady Lions will be competing in six events this weekend at the 98th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. The Lady Lions are sending all three of their relay teams - the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 - as well as individual competitors Grace Sparks in the 100-meter hurdles and pole vault, and Hannah Deen in the high jump.

The details

The Lady Lions' relay teams will be comprised of Icess Hall, Kaya Phillips, Jade Morin and Aniah Hines, who won the 4x100 relay at the state championships last year. Grace Sparks will compete in the 100-meter hurdles and pole vault, while Hannah Deen will take part in the high jump, an event she qualified for state in as a freshman and junior.

• The Texas Relays will take place on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
• Sparks will run the 100-meter hurdles at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by the 4x200 relay preliminaries.
• Deen will compete in the high jump at 6 p.m. on Friday, while the 4x400 relay preliminaries will be at 6:40 p.m.
• The 4x100 relay preliminaries are set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the finals at 1:30 p.m. Sparks will also compete in the pole vault at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
• The District 6-4A track and field meet will take place next week on April 8-9 in Graham.
