Two Brownwood High School powerlifters qualified for the Texas High School Powerlifters State Meet on Friday, but only one was able to compete. Isaac Gonzales suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the week and could not participate in the Class 4A 181-pound weight class. Meanwhile, Adolfo Torres placed 21st in the Class 4A boys 148-pound weight class, setting personal bests in the deadlift, bench press, and squat.
