According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, the Tennessee Titans are expected to at least explore a trade for star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who has reportedly been unhappy with his role in the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. Brown previously played for the Titans before being traded to the Eagles in 2022. The Titans, now under new head coach Robert Saleh, could look to reunite with Brown as they rebuild their receiving corps around young quarterback Cam Ward.
Why it matters
A reunion with Brown would be a major move for the Titans as they look to build a contender around Ward. Brown was a fan favorite in Tennessee and has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL over the past four seasons. Acquiring him would give the Titans a true No. 1 target and help offset the loss of Calvin Ridley, who has struggled with injuries and inconsistency.
The details
Fowler reported that "some people I've talked to around the league, some executives of other teams," expect the Eagles to at least consider trading Brown, who has "looked miserable" and had "body language" suggesting he is unhappy with his role in Philadelphia's offense. The Titans would likely have to part with significant draft capital and/or veteran players to acquire Brown, but his track record of production and familiarity with the organization could make him an attractive target.
- In 2022, the Titans traded Brown to the Eagles.
- Over the past four seasons, Brown has recorded four straight 1,000-yard receiving campaigns and three seasons with at least 7 touchdowns.

What they’re saying
“Some people I've talked to around the league, some executives of other teams, do expect that the Eagles will at least entertain a trade for A.J. Brown, who is unhappy on numerous fronts.”
— Jeremy Fowler, ESPN Insider (ESPN)
“He looked like he was miserable out there, body language wasn't good. Something has to give, that's sort of the feeling right now... he would create a haul for the Eagles if they do go that route.”
— Jeremy Fowler, ESPN Insider (ESPN)
What’s next
If the Titans pursue a trade for A.J. Brown, they would likely have to part with significant draft capital and/or veteran players to acquire the star wide receiver from the Eagles.
The takeaway
A reunion between the Titans and A.J. Brown would be a major move as Tennessee looks to build a contender around young quarterback Cam Ward. Brown's familiarity with the organization and track record of production make him an attractive target, but the Titans would have to be willing to pay a steep price to bring him back to Nashville.
