According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Timmons was found dead inside Young's apartment on Brittany Park Drive on March 14, after officers joined two of her friends for a welfare check. Her cause of death was ruled as strangulation. The night before Timmons' body was discovered, Kentucky State Police found her red Dodge Charger abandoned on an Interstate 24 bridge that crosses the Cumberland River, with the engine running, the driver's door open, and the hazard flashers on. Young's license was found inside the vehicle.
