Vanderbilt Communications and Marketing is now accepting partner interest submissions for the 2026-27 academic year for the Pin Drop Series, a popular student engagement program. The department has introduced updated guidelines and submission deadlines to support planning and maintain the cohesive, student-first experience that defines the series.
Why it matters
The Pin Drop Series has seen strong engagement from the Vanderbilt community over the past year. The updated guidelines aim to streamline the process for administrative units and departments to participate, while ensuring a consistent and student-focused experience across all pin drops.
The details
To participate in the official Pin Drop Series, submissions must be from an administrative unit or department, the event must be for a broad campus audience, and requests must be submitted by the semester deadline. After a kickoff meeting, the Communications and Marketing team will provide a production schedule, 2-3 pin design options, and guidance on the recommended quantity to order, which typically sees success with 500 pins at an estimated cost of $1,200. Partners are responsible for hosting and staffing the in-person pin drop event, while Communications and Marketing provides creative direction, content support, and promotion.
- The submission deadline for Spring 2027 pin drops is September 4, 2026.

The takeaway
The updated Pin Drop Series guidelines aim to streamline the participation process while maintaining the cohesive, student-first experience that has made the program a success at Vanderbilt.
