The Volunteers recently landed 3-star QB Derrick Baker, but are now setting their sights on 4-star prospect Israel Abrams, who is ranked as high as the second-best QB in the 2027 class. Abrams plans to visit Knoxville on March 31, although it won't be an official visit, and has also scheduled visits to several other top programs this spring and summer.

He plans to visit Tennessee on March 31, although it won't be an official visit. Abrams has also scheduled visits to Purdue, Auburn, Kentucky, and Florida State this spring and summer. As a junior, Abrams totaled 50 touchdowns, with 40 coming through the air and 10 on the ground. He was named to the 1st team All-state team and was the Illinois MaxPreps Player of the Year, the Rivals Illinois Player of the Year, and the Illinois Prep Redzone Player of the Year.
