The Chattanooga softball team split their games on the opening day of the Frost Classic, losing 6-1 to Cornell before dominating UIC 15-0 in the nightcap. Pitcher Sophia Guerra recorded a five-inning shutout in the second game as the Mocs' bats came alive, led by Mia Leone's 3-for-3 performance with a 3-run homer.

The details
In the first game, Cornell jumped out to a 3-0 lead and added three more runs in the sixth inning to win 6-1. Chattanooga's lone run came in the sixth when Chloe Lackey reached on an error and scored. Pitcher Taylor Long struck out seven batters. In the second game, the Mocs scored in every inning, led by Leone's 3-run homer in the first. Pikas, Segedi, Pitts, and Karls also had big offensive games as Chattanooga cruised to a 15-0 victory. Pitcher Sophia Guerra tossed a 5-inning shutout, striking out one without a walk.
