A Chattanooga man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, and reckless endangerment after a Facebook Marketplace exchange turned into a shooting incident in December 2025. The victim was shot multiple times but was able to drive himself to a gas station for help before being transported to the hospital.
Why it matters
This case highlights the potential dangers of in-person meetups arranged through online marketplaces, as well as the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in tracking down suspects and preventing such violent crimes in the community.
The details
According to the arrest report, the victim had been communicating with someone identifying as a woman on Facebook Messenger and agreed to meet at a specified address. However, when the victim arrived, he was approached by two Black men. One suspect struck the victim in the face with a firearm, while the other reached into the vehicle. As the victim tried to drive away, both suspects opened fire, striking the victim in the shoulders and abdomen. After being released from the hospital, the victim identified the Facebook account owner as Terri Yahna Dallas, and police developed leads pointing to CaTrayvin Jayshun Andrews as one of the suspects. Andrews was later arrested and charged.
