The Southern Conference and ESPN have announced a multi-year extension of their media rights agreement, continuing a longstanding partnership that will provide unprecedented national linear and digital exposure for SoCon athletics across ESPN's networks through the 2031-32 academic year. The expanded deal includes a significant increase in national television coverage for SoCon men's and women's basketball, as well as comprehensive digital distribution of SoCon events across ESPN's platforms.

The details
Under the new agreement, the SoCon will see a record number of regular season and championship events aired on ESPN's linear networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. Men's basketball coverage will be notably expanded, with the conference tournament championship game airing on ESPN and semifinal contests on ESPN networks. For the first time, the SoCon women's basketball tournament final will also be televised on ESPNU annually. Additionally, a minimum of 750 SoCon events per year will be streamed across ESPN's digital platforms.
