Mikahi Allen, a four-star linebacker from Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep, is a priority target for the South Carolina Gamecocks football team. Allen will be visiting Columbia on March 21 to observe the Gamecocks' spring practice session. This will be the first of several visits Allen has planned for the spring, as he is also scheduled to check out Texas A&M, Texas, Florida State, Miami, and Illinois over the next couple of months.
Why it matters
Landing top talent like Allen is crucial for the Gamecocks as they look to rebuild their defense and compete in the SEC. Allen is a highly-touted prospect ranked as the No. 153 player nationally and the No. 11 linebacker in the 2027 class.
The details
The 6-foot-1, 218-pound Allen racked up impressive stats as a junior, recording 58 total tackles, 7 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and 3 interceptions. South Carolina defensive coordinator Clayton White is leading Allen's recruitment, and the Gamecocks will surely try to get him back on campus for an official visit after his March 21 trip.
