The Charleston County Coroner's Office has been fully accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME), affirming that its operating policies, procedures, and practices are aligned with national standards. Charleston County Coroner's Office is the only Coroner's Office in the state to achieve this milestone and one of just a handful of Coroner or Medical Examiner's Offices nationwide to be dually accredited by both NAME and the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME).
