Geisinger Hosts Free Shredding Events for Earth Day

Geisinger is hosting a series of free community shredding events across Northeast and Central Pennsylvania in April to celebrate Earth Day. The first event took place on Monday at the Geisinger Mount Pleasant location in Scranton, where members of the public and Geisinger employees were able to bring personal and professional confidential documents to be securely shredded and recycled on-site. Additional shredding events are scheduled for April 10 and 24 at the Geisinger Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine location in Plains Township.

These shredding events provide a convenient and environmentally-friendly way for Geisinger patients and community members to safely dispose of sensitive documents, helping to prevent identity theft and reduce paper waste. Earth Day has been celebrated annually on April 22 since 1970 to promote environmental protection.

The details

At the Geisinger shredding events, each person is limited to bringing up to three boxes of documents to be securely shredded and recycled on-site. The events are open to both Geisinger employees and members of the public. The additional shredding events will take place on April 10 and 24 at the Geisinger Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine location in Plains Township.
