The Wright Center for Community Health Geriatrics Service is hosting its second annual Aging and Dementia-Friendly Symposium on March 26 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The free event is open to medical professionals, clinical learners, long-term care providers, social service organizations, patients, and family members, and will feature presentations on Montessori methods of dementia care, remarks from a local caregiver and representatives of a national caregiver support program, and information on state and Medicaid resources.

The details
The symposium will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wright Center for Community Health in Scranton. Attendees will hear from Bryan Stevenson of the Center for Applied Research in Dementia on Montessori methods of dementia care, as well as remarks from a local caregiver and representatives of the national caregiver support program Carallel. A state Department of Aging representative will discuss the PA CareKit, and AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania will provide information on Medicaid managed care services.
