Four Lackawanna Football Conference players to compete in Small-School East-West matchup

Four standout high school football players from the Lackawanna Football Conference and Times-Tribune All-Region team have been selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches' Association Small-School (Class 1A-Class 3A) East-West all-star game on May 17.

The four LFC players selected are Lakeland quarterback David Naniewicz, Lakeland defensive lineman Weston Loomis, Lackawanna Trail linebacker Tyler Jervis, and Scranton Prep defensive back Will McPartland. Former Western Wayne head coach Shane Grodack will serve as an assistant coach for the East team.

The players
David Naniewicz
Lakeland quarterback who is headed to Lackawanna College. He was the LFC Division II Coaches' Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 1,743 yards and 17 touchdowns, and rushing for 938 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Weston Loomis
Lakeland defensive lineman who committed to the University of Rochester. He was a three-year starter and an LFC Division II Coaches' all-star.
Tyler Jervis
Lackawanna Trail linebacker who helped lead the Lions to the LFC Division III and District 2 Class 1A championships. He had 87 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 4 interceptions, and 3 fumble recoveries.
Will McPartland
Scranton Prep defensive back who returned from a torn ACL suffered in the state playoffs during his junior season to lead the Cavaliers to the District 2 Class 3A championship.
Shane Grodack
Former Western Wayne head coach who will serve as an assistant coach for the East team. He had a three-year record of 20-14 at Western Wayne, including the program's first 10-win season in 2024.
