32-foot RV, 17 cities and free LGBTQ+ legal help fuel Caravan of Hope

The Caravan of Hope, an RV tour, will bring free legal services to LGBTQ+ people in rural and underserved communities.

Published on Feb. 28, 2026

The Caravan of Hope, an RV tour founded by Angela Giampolo of the Giampolo Law Group, will visit 17 cities across the country starting on March 1, 2026, to provide free 'life-affirming' legal services focused on protecting identity, family security and long-term stability for LGBTQ+ people in rural and underserved communities.

Why it matters

While big cities often have layers of affirming resources and legal protections, vast parts of the country do not. In many communities, LGBTQ+ people are facing heightened risk, shrinking protections, and limited access to legal help. The Caravan of Hope aims to show up where support is scarce and ensure LGBTQ+ people are not navigating these challenges alone.

The details

The Caravan of Hope will travel more than 5,000 miles in a 32-foot RV, intentionally designed to reach communities facing disproportionate legal and economic barriers, including LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness, transgender individuals confronting systemic instability, and older LGBTQ+ adults who often lack safe, affirming support systems. The pro bono services provided will include assistance with name changes, gender marker and ID-related updates, estate planning including wills, powers of attorney and healthcare directives, and general legal guidance and resources.

  • The Caravan of Hope tour kicks off with a Drag Brunch fundraiser at Bridget Foy's in Philadelphia on March 1, 2026.
  • The Caravan of Hope plans to return to Philadelphia on March 31, 2026 for its last day of free legal services.

“While big cities often have layers of affirming resources and legal protections, vast parts of this country do not. In many communities, especially right now, LGBTQ+ people are facing heightened risk, shrinking protections, and limited access to legal help. The Caravan of Hope is about showing up where support is scarce and making sure people are not navigating this alone.”

The takeaway

The Caravan of Hope is an important initiative that aims to provide critical legal services and support to LGBTQ+ individuals in rural and underserved communities, where they often face heightened risks and limited access to resources. By bringing these services directly to the people who need them most, the Caravan of Hope is helping to ensure that LGBTQ+ people across the country can access the legal protections and recognition they deserve.
