The Leigh Leckerman Foundation, a nonprofit serving Philadelphia and surrounding communities, is hosting a Valentine's Day dinner dance on February 14th at the Philadelphia Ballroom. The event will feature a buffet dinner, live music by the Dirty Dance Band, a photo booth, floral bar, raffles, and a cash bar. Proceeds from the $60 tickets will go towards the foundation's efforts to provide referral services, resources, and financial support for housing to those seeking drug and alcohol addiction treatment.
Why it matters
The Leigh Leckerman Foundation was established in 2012 after Leigh Leckerman, the organization's namesake, tragically passed away at age 21 when she was hit by a car while walking home after a night of partying. The foundation has since partnered with Penn Medicine to refer individuals to behavioral health services and provide treatment support, while also conducting other community outreach efforts like shoe and clothing drives for the homeless.
The details
The Valentine's Day dinner dance will take place on Saturday, February 14th, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the party starting at 7 PM. In addition to the buffet dinner and live music, the event will also feature a photo booth, floral bar, 50/50 raffle, and a cash bar. Tickets are priced at $60 per person.
