During Love Data Week, an annual international celebration of data held in mid-February, the Big Ten Academic Alliance is hosting a weeklong schedule of no-cost virtual events for students, faculty, and staff from member universities, including Penn State, beginning on February 9th.

Love Data Week provides an opportunity for the Big Ten academic community to come together and share innovative work, explore emerging trends, and celebrate the power of data to transform research, education, and real-world problem-solving.
The details
The virtual event lineup includes sessions on AI 'hallucinations', safeguarding federal data, AI innovations across the Big Ten, career paths in data, accessible data visualization, a dashboard design showdown, and a showcase of the Big Ten Data Viz Championship winners. Penn State Brandywine's Professor Laura Guertin and Librarian Annie Jensen have collaborated on a data visualization quilt that will be entered into the championship.

Attendees can vote on the people's choice winner of the Big Ten Data Viz Championship to win the Love It! Award. Voting information will be announced by Monday, Feb. 9, with the unveiling of the data viz galleries, and the winners will be announced on Feb. 13 during the Big Ten Data Viz Championship Showcase.
