The focus shifts to the WPIAL Class 2A and 3A wrestling championships as Beaver Valley wrestlers look to compete for individual titles and qualify for the PIAA playoffs. Action gets underway on February 20-21, with wrestlers in Class 2A competing at Chartiers Valley High School and Class 3A competitors wrestling at Canon-McMillan High School.
Why it matters
The WPIAL championships are a crucial step for Beaver Valley wrestlers to advance to the PIAA regional tournament and potentially the state championships. Many of these wrestlers have been working towards this moment all season, looking to cap off their campaigns with a WPIAL title and a chance to compete at the highest level.
The details
In Class 2A, the top eight wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the PIAA regional tournament at Altoona High School, while the top seven in Class 3A will advance to the PIAA regional tournament at Canon-McMillan High School. Beaver Valley is sending a strong contingent of wrestlers, including several who are seeded and looking to make deep runs in the tournament.

- Action will begin on Friday, February 20 at 5 p.m. with the pigtails, round of 16, and quarterfinal rounds.
- On Saturday, February 21, the second consolation round and semifinals will kick off the day at 10 a.m.
The players
Antonio Boni
A Beaver Valley wrestler aiming to reach the WPIAL championship bout at 107 pounds after claiming bronze last season. He comes in as the No. 2 seed in the weight class.
Quaker Valley
The school that Anderchak, a senior wrestler, attends. Anderchak sits three wins away from breaking the Quaker Valley all-time wins record and will likely have to get through Elizabeth Forward's Preston Bubash, the weight class' top seed, to have a chance at the record.
Preston Bubash
The No. 1 seed in the weight class that Anderchak competes in. Bubash and Anderchak have faced off four times in the past two years, with each wrestler having two victories.
Bosco
A freshman wrestler from Beaver Valley who is the No. 4 seed in his weight class after capturing his first section title.
Sipes
A Beaver Valley wrestler who will wrestle as the No. 5 seed in his weight class after finishing second at the sectional tournament. He will be searching for his first placement at WPIALs.
