The 2nd Annual Gino's All-Star Classic featured the best high school basketball players in the Klamath Basin competing in boys and girls games to benefit the Klamath and Lake Counties Food Bank. Team Gino's swept both the girls and boys games, with the girls team coming from behind to win 53-49 and the shorthanded boys team pulling off a 60-58 victory.

Why it matters

The annual all-star event brings the community together around basketball while also raising critical funds and food donations for the local food bank. In a region with high poverty rates, the all-star game provides an opportunity for student-athletes to give back and make a difference.

The details

In the girls game, Team 960 Sports jumped out to an early lead, but Team Gino's rallied in the second half, led by big performances from Makayla Schroeder, Rilee Paulsen, Josefina Mojica and Dejah Head. The boys game was a close battle, with Team Gino's overcoming a shorthanded roster to pull out a 60-58 win, powered by Davis Hartwell, Kaydon Gannett, Dominick Lamboy and Dilen Black.
