Oregon State Police reported a series of arrests and citations issued to drivers in the Hermiston area over the past few days, including a man who was held at gunpoint after acting violently during a traffic stop, another driver caught speeding at 108 mph, and a 19-year-old charged with DUI, open container, and other violations.

The details
On February 22nd, Trooper Cotter Butler stopped a Hyundai Elantra on Interstate 82 near Hermiston for speeding. When the driver, Dustin Colby, 45, of Kennewick, jumped out of the car and approached the trooper in a violent manner, Butler held him at gunpoint and later arrested him. Colby was found to have open containers of alcohol, a loaded pistol, and suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle. He was charged with a long list of offenses including DUI, drug possession, and weapons violations. On February 21st, Trooper Butler also cited Jorge Ricardo-Delatorre, 24, of Umatilla, for driving 108 mph in a 55 mph zone on a dangerous stretch of road near Hermiston. Ricardo-Delatorre was also found to have a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. On the same day, Trooper Adan Madera stopped Agusto Garcia Carrillo, 19, of Hermiston, for traffic violations and found him to be driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.17%. Garcia Carrillo was cited for DUI, open container, and other charges.
