Herring sets program record, Johnson earns first career award

LC State Athletics earned a pair of Cascade Conference McDonald's Player of the Week honors, with Darian Herring earning her LC State Women's Basketball record fifth Defensive Player of the Week honor and Bryce Johnson earning the first Player of the Week award for Warrior Baseball this year.

The details

Herring, a junior, totaled seven blocked shots over the weekend including five against Northwest (Wash.) to go with 10.5 rebounds per game and four total steals. Her defense led directly to 22 points. Herring now ranks second all-time at LC State in blocks with 204. Johnson, an outfielder, hit .615 (8-for-13) and slugged 1.000 with two doubles and a home run, driving in 10 runs and scoring five.
