OSU-Cascades Offers Summer Academy for High School Students

Oregon State University's Cascades campus is now accepting registrations for its Summer Academy, a six-day program that gives high school students entering grades 10-12 a taste of college life. The program features academic tracks, career exploration, and outdoor recreation activities like hiking, rock climbing, and rafting.

The Summer Academy provides an opportunity for high school students to get a head start on the college experience and earn a $500 scholarship to OSU-Cascades. It also helps introduce teens to potential career paths and build relationships with current OSU-Cascades students who serve as counselors.

The details

The Summer Academy will run in two sessions, July 19-24 and July 26-31. Students can choose from various academic tracks led by OSU-Cascades faculty and will also tour a local company to learn about different industries. Recreational activities include hiking, rock climbing, and rafting on the Deschutes River. On-campus events like team building workshops, board games, and a kickball tournament are also part of the program.
