A Tulsa craft shop called Community Craft is hosting a monthly 'Reel Crafts' film series in partnership with Circle Cinema. The next event features a screening of the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, where guests are invited to bring their own knitting, embroidery, sewing, or other craft projects to work on during the movie. The lights in the theater remain partially raised so attendees can see their work while still enjoying the film.
Why it matters
The Reel Crafts event blends creativity with community, giving people a chance to socialize while crafting in a casual environment. It's an opportunity for makers of all skill levels to come together and enjoy a beloved film while pursuing their own creative projects.
The details
Community Craft founder Mary Perisho launched the shop in April 2025 with the goal of creating a welcoming space for makers. The Reel Crafts event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a pop-up shop where guests can purchase craft kits and supplies before the 7 p.m. screening. Themed giveaways will be held before the movie begins. The relaxed atmosphere encourages guests to quietly chat, craft, and connect with fellow makers.
